Talking Fool

What are the kids doing today?

Caroline is becoming a talking fool. Wow!!! When we are in the car, she sings her ABC's, then she sings - one little, two little, three little indians, and so forth. It is amazing to see her development. We are not potty training after I bought some Tinkerbell and Dora the Explorer undies. Summer project.

John is just so sweet and he eats a lot of food. We are going out today for our first restaurant experience. So, wish me luck.

Splinters // Grassophobia

What are the kids doing today?

Last week, the kids and I were out on the front porch having a wonderful time since it's been beautiful here. I checked John's hands one morning and realized between both his hands, he had about 12 splinters. So, Eric was home and he got the pin out and we wrestled with John to get all 12 splinters out of his hands. He was definitely not a happy camper.

Last night, we went outside after dinner and just chilled out. The weather has been awesome here, to say the least. Caroline is running around like a luntic and John just stands in the lawn and does nothing. Eric took off his shoes and he finally made a couple of steps. But, it was very funny just seeing John in one place, not moving an inch due to his grassophobia.

Caroline is doing well. We've been coloring, saying our ABC's and other stuff.

He likes it!!

New Bottle Posted by Hello

John needs to change bottles so when I was out last night at Wal-Mart, I found the bottle. It's by nuby (I think -- don't know proper spelling). I washed it last night and today gave him some water and he actually drank from it. I still need to help him with tilting the bottle up to drink from, but he's good to go.

I thought it would be a great idea for Caroline and John to be a part of Story time at the local library. Boy, was I wrong. Caroline just cried the whole time, saying "book" as the children had to sit on little bug cushions and not do nothing else. Now, the age is up to 5 years of age and I was there with both the children. I thought the rules where ridiculous having Caroline sit down for 30 minutes while the librarian reads. She only sits on my lap when at home or stands up. I guess we'll wait another year or season to see if she can sit down and just listen. Harsh rules, uh?

He's not really going on it...

Wheee!!! Slide!! Posted by Hello

He's doing this just to get a rise out of Caroline. He has been picking up every little thing on the deck such as leaves, branches and putting it in his mouth. You should see how dirty his hands, face and clothes get after an outing on the porch.

Okay, now that you heard how dirty it is, the kids love being out there especially in this beautiful weather.

I like trucks

Vroom!!! Vroom!!! Posted by Hello

Caroline loves racing in her car along the deck. We had beautiful weather and the kids need to be outside. I brought down some hand wipes since the deck is very dirty. I think the kids will have to have baths every night soon since summer is just around the corner.

Dirty, dirty, dirty

What are the kids doing today?

They were outside today and loving every minute out in 70 degree weather. We played on the front porch and it was dirty. Eric needs to powerwash it; however, the kids didn't mind and neither did mom as long as the children kept their distance and not put their hands on my body. Isn't that awful. There were a couple of sticks and John proceeded to put them in his mouth. We brought out Caroline's slide and she had fun on it since John didn't want to use it.

Needless to say, they had baths and the water was quite dirty!! But, that's okay. They are kids and that's what it's all about.

Nothing new going on here!!

What are the kids doing today?

Right now they are napping. John has this yucky stomach bug which makes mommy crazy when I change him in the morning. I'm not going to go into detail but a bath is always needed. He is enjoying his new found freedom of walking. We rearranged the great room so he can climb up on the furniture and I won't have to worry about my knitting projects being ruined or anything else.

I bought Caroline some undies; however, they were not Dora the Explorer. Tinker Bell, instead. Perhaps, if I got her Dora, she would be more excited about potty training.
